Behind-the-Wheel Driving Lessons
Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) offer a 7-day, 14-period behind-the-wheel experience for our students to learn and practice safe driving skills, and to obtain their juvenile driver's license. Students will have the opportunity to observe other drivers and to drive in residential, open, and interstate roadways.
You are making the right choice to commit to behind-the-wheel in PWCS as your student will be instructed by a certified driver education instructor who is a current or retired PWCS educator. Our behind-the-wheel instructors provide an exceptional experience for our students as they utilize their teaching skills and practice to support safe driving practices needed for teen drivers.
Behind-the-wheel classes are scheduled and held at the convenience of your student's school. The lessons are approximately 2-hour classes and they are typically offered after school to include two students and one instructor in the vehicle. You are encouraged to speak to your student's health and physical education teacher or the school's driver education coordinator for more information on scheduling behind-the-wheel classes.
A student will need to have a Virginia Learner's Permit before registering.
